Mrs. Barnes 4th grade class!!!!!

Welcome to our class family!!!!

The mission of Columbus County Schools is to instill in students the academic and social skills essential for responsible and productive citizenship in a global society.

The mission of Evergreen Elementary School is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where stuents are given an oppportunity to learn and develop skills that will benefit them throughout life in a global society.

Mrs. Barnes' mission statement is that all students are expected to come to class well rested and ready to learn to the best of their ability.  All effort is expected and all children can and will learn even if in different ways and on different days.  Great attitudes with smiles help tremendously.  Students will use restroom before entering the classroom and then be prepared to begin to work.  Homework will be turned in each morning and checked individually with the student.  All students are expected to try their best!!!!!!

What to Expect.......

Homwork is counted as a test grade in Language Arts at the end of the nine weeks.  Students start with a 100 and each assignment not turned in will deduct 5 points.

Morning work is also counted as a test grade in Math at the end of the nine weeks.  Students are expected to complete their work and do their best.

Reading each night is required as part of homework and AR testing is used to test if the child is keeping up with their nightly reading assignment.  12 points are required each nine weeks and will be a participation grade in Language Arts.

Paying attention and working toward improvement is expected and I will try very hard to encourage the students to do so and keep my parents updated at all times!!!
